6th Annual South Florida Golf Tournament |
|
|
|
The South Florida Chapter of NCCUAA will host its 6th tournament at the Palm Aire Country Club in Pompano Beach, FL on Saturday June 9, 2012. We will play on the Mighty Oak championship course; it's a great challenge for the long ball hitters.
All of the details can be found in the brochure below, however, the thrill of the event is being there; for example the putting contest (an elimination format). For 5 dollars you can enter the putting contest, if you win the elimination rounds, you will have the opportunity to putt for the $5000 prize. You can enter the contest as often as you wish. The putting contest has been an excellent way to raise additional funds and we look forward to sponsoring it again this year. Too cap the day off is the award buffet and ceremony, the scholarship winner is announced along with the winners of various golfer's events and raffles.

5th Annual Golf Tournament (updated) |

NCCUAA South Florida Chapter 5th Annual Golf Tournament (Updated: 8/19/2011)
Held on June 11, 2011 was a great success and the South Florida Chapter gives a huge thank-you to South Florida Friends of NCCU for their contributions/sign sponsorships. A huge Soaring Eagle thank-you goes our faithful Alumni base who supported our fundraising efforts by sponoring student signs. Our contributors and sponsors enabled the chapter to continue awarding two local scholarships per year; our annual NCCU and In-State.
Our In-State scholarship was awarded to Ms. Ra'Anna Pickens and she will attend FAMU this fall semester. Our local NCCU scholarship was awarded to Ms. Tracey Joseph and she will attend NCCU this fall semester. These students are from the South Florida area.
Again our Putting Contest (sponsored by Amos Bonner this year) continues to be an enjoyable event and gives our golfers a chance to win $5000 (half to the golfer and half to the scholarship fund). Unfortunately, no one won the contest. On the par 3s - four opportunities to win a Hole-In-One prize. The prizes ranged from $10,000 (shared) to a Richard Petty Driving Eperience. Needless to say, the golfers chocked on these holes. The goodie bags were small in content but the gifts were frist class.
The chapter is looking forward to hosting its 6th Annual Golf Tournament in 2012 and hope that you can attend.
